We aim to equip pupils with knowledge, skills and understanding as set out in the Music National Curriculum. Children will know more and remember more. We use progression grids to ensure that prior knowledge, skills and vocabulary are built upon in subsequent year groups. At South Hiendley School, we use the online programme ‘Charanga’ to enhance teacher’s CPD and to reduce workload. Progression grids, which match the Charanga programme, and the teacher’s own knowledge, is used to create detailed short-term plans.
